Southport Short Course Meet
Friday, 25 July 2008

The first swim meet for the season for our swimmers was at Southport on Saturday 19th August. All the Academy kids did a great job, swimming 18 PB's and bringing home 5 Gold,3 Silver and 1 Bronze. Not bad for six swimmers. Head Coach Glen Currie was very impressed with the results for so early in the season. To see their results look in the members section.

One of our National squad swimmers Corinne Henningsen has this week been named in the Queensland Cross Country Team to compete at the 2008 Australian All Schools Cross Country Championships on the 23rd of August in Geelong Victoria.

Academy's Adam Paroz won a Bronze medal in the 100m Backstroke Final at 2008 Australian Age Championship which was held in April at the Chandler Swimming Complex in Brisbane.

Congratulations Adam on a great performance.

Adam Paroz has been selected in the 2008 QUEENSLAND SECONDARY SCHOOL SWIMMING TEAM to compete at the Pacific School Games in Canberra from the 29th November to 7th December 2008.
